The 7th Claye-Souilly Music Festival featured
6 concerts organised in the towns of
Champigny-sur-Marne,Pontault-Combault,
Trilport and Claye-Souilly
and included performances by
a classical orchestra
5 French choirs
3 Guest choirs
from Bulgaria, Ireland and Russia
in total, more than 400 musicians and singers.
The principal performers:
Chorale "Slavei" d'Harmanli (Bulgarie)
La chorale "Slavei" fondée en 1896 compte environ 60 choristes passionnés de musique. Elle a effectué de nombreuses tournées en Grèce (2000), Macédoine (2001) Italie (Rome 2003), France (2007), Espagne, Russie.
Son répertoire va de la musique baroque au XXème s.
La chorale est dirigée par Stelia Giorgiewa.
"Slavei" a créé au printemps 2007 à Harmanli un Festival international qui reçoit des choeurs de tous les pays.
Limerick Choral Union (Irlande)
Malcolm Green
Musical Director of Limerick Choral Union
Malcolm Green has been Musical Director of Limerick Choral Union for fifteen years. Under his leadership the choir has performed two major concerts a year. Malcolm is also a pianist and cellist. He is a founder member of the Dolmen String Quartet.
Malcolm received his musical training in the U.K. After attaining a degree in Music, he pursued post-graduate studies in piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music, London. In England, Malcolm taught piano at third level, ran a successful music school for children for many years and played in a piano trio. He studied conducting with Geoffrey Spratt in Cork and David Lawrence in England, Trevor Selby in Limerick and more recently Gabriel Thesz from Hungary and Volker Hempfling from Germany.. For the last three years he has organised the National Choral Singing day in Limerick in conjunction with Mental Health Limerick. Last year he performed a solo piano recital in St. Mary’s Cathedral, he was also guest conductor with The Dublin Baroque Players in a programme of Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Mozart.
Malcolm has an M.A. in Integrative Psychotherapy from UCC and for the last 8 years has been Co-Director of the Crescent Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre in Limerick.
La Chapelle choral “Kursk” (Koursk Russie)
Fondée en 1987, la chorale de Koursk est l'une des meilleures de Russie.
Elle a remporté de nombreux prix aux concours de Moscou (1996), Tours (1997), Erfurt ("Meilleur choeur du Festival en 2000 et 2001) et aux Festivals d'Odessa, Belgorod et Yalta (Russie).
La chorale de Koursk a donné plus de 100 concerts en Allemagne, France et Hollande. Elle a travaillé avec des orchestres philharmoniques russes, avec des chanteurs célèbres, avec le Choeur de la "Capella" de Saint-Pétersbourg et différents choeurs européens.
Le chef de choeur, Evgenie Legostaev, est lauréat du Conservatoire Tchaïkovsky de Moscou, docteur des arts, professeur et citoyen d’honneur de la ville de Koursk
